The DUCI Journey
DUCI was designed by Polish designer Ostap Hel as a compact and refined EDC folding knife. Its most distinctive feature is the *detachable karambit ring*, which can be removed or installed directly through a *button mechanism* without any tools.
At the very beginning, the ring system worked similarly to many detachable karambit rings available on the market. It required tools for removal. However, we felt this solution didn’t truly match the idea behind DUCI. For a knife designed to be small, lightweight, and easy to carry, requiring additional tools to remove the ring made the whole concept less practical. Because of this, the production of DUCI was temporarily put on hold for years.
